Titans Sneak Past Argonauts, 5-4
|
The Chicago Titans topped the Astoria Argonauts, 5-4, with youngster Jaswant Ghosal playing a key role. Ghosal went 2 for 4 with a triple and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Titans in the win. Chicago reliever Robert Limby picked up the win, upping his record to 5-2. Julián Salazar took the loss. Chicago is now 78-84, while Astoria is 91-71.
Ghosal had a game-changing at-bat for Chicago. It came in the top of the ninth inning with two out. Ghosal hit a 1-2 fastball from Julián Salazar for a run-scoring triple. It put Chicago in front, 5-4.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Astoria manager Toin Furukawa.
