The Detroit Death Stars and Astoria Argonauts obliged those fans who came to The Death Star looking for a good time.

The Death Stars took Astoria pitcher Senzo Nakashima's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Death Star. The final score was 6-5, Detroit. Nakashima went 5 innings and allowed 2 earned runs, striking out 5. The win was credited to Carl Pollard in relief. His record improves to 8-1. Edgardo Vargas took the loss. Getting the save was Gaudêncio Deplazes, his 4th.

The Death Stars got a clutch hit from Jack McDonald with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. McDonald jumped on a 3-0 slider from Kyuso Hara and hit a run-scoring single, staking his club to a 5-4 lead.

"Not to put too fine a point on it," said McDonald, "but we really needed that win."

The third-place Death Stars improved to 85-72.
