Peoria pitcher Edolf Switzer gave the Bumblebees all they could handle, but in the end, Pasadena left The Cave at Barton Springs with a 9-6 win. Switzer allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits over 6 innings. Pasadena reliever Stepan Elmesov was credited with the win, to go to 3-1. Hideyori Ohayashi took the loss for Peoria. Vicente Valenzuela was called on to finish, recording his 17th save.

Edmund McDonald said the idea of hitting a home run crossed his mind when he came to bat in the top of the ninth. McDonald belted a 3-run home run to stake Pasadena to a 9-6 lead. His 39th home run of the season came off Peoria pitcher Jim Unknown.

"This is truly a great team to play with," McDonald said after the game. "We're like brothers, and when we come together to pull out the win, that just makes it all the better."
