Titans Lose to Caterpillars in Walk Off
|
The Peoria Caterpillars walked off with a big win today at The Cave at Barton Springs.
In a low-scoring game between the Peoria Caterpillars and the Chicago Titans, pitcher Ryunosuke Chikafuji was masterful on the mound. The Peoria right-hander was named the player of the game in Peoria's 3-1 win. Peoria reliever Jim Unknown picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jason Hunter was saddled with the loss.
Peoria won the game in the bottom of the ninth inning. With no outs and Jason Hunter on the mound for Chicago, right fielder Michael Comelay hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Caterpillars fans to their feet.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Chikafuji said.
Peoria is now 70-86, Chicago 76-80.
