Coal Miners Lose, 2-1, at The Hole
|
Pasadena beat Antioch at The Hole, eking out a 2-1 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Baltwin Baars, who earned player of the game honors. The winning pitcher was Baars, now 2-1. He tossed 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 8. Vicente Valenzuela notched his 16th save in 17 chances.
Matsuo Yoshimura contributed to the Pasadena win. The 21-year old center fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Yoshimura went 1 for 2 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
"We did just enough to win," Baars said.
Pasadena is now 95-61, 9 games up in the Blake Camden League Youppi Division.
