Canadians Stick Freeze with 9-6 Loss
Vancouver catcher Carlos Vásquez was instrumental in his team's 9-6 win over the Minneapolis Freeze. Vásquez went 3-4 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Canadians. Vancouver reliever Joe Kenner picked up the win, upping his record to 8-5. Andrew Johnson shouldered the loss. Vancouver is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Some sloppy defense hurt the Freeze. In the top of the seventh, with Vancouver trailing 4-3, Aftab Mengal was at the plate when Vancouver scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Canadians to go in front, 5-4.

"Winning is not something we take for granted," Mengal said.
