Raiders Fall Short at Philadelphia
Philadelphia beat Reno at The Bell, eking out a 7-6 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Tien-kai Zhai, who earned player of the game honors. Bob Archer got credit for the save for Philadelphia. It was his 11th of the year. Philadelphia is in 5th place in the Blake Camden League B.J. Birdie League with a record of 70-81.

Philadelphia second baseman Derek Thompson gave his club a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd and the Freedom trailing 6-5, Thompson hit a run-scoring single.

"We'll savor this win," Thompson told the Philadelphia Daily, "then get ready for the next game."
