The Peoria Caterpillars overcame a good performance by Detroit center fielder Manuel Aguilar to knock off Detroit, 6-5, at The Death Star. Aguilar went 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs. With the win over Detroit, the Caterpillars improved to 67-85.

The contest featured some late-game dramatics from Peoria second baseman Teruo Hashimoto. In the top of the eighth inning, with one out and the bases loaded, Hashimoto hit a run-scoring single to help Peoria seize the win.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Hashimoto said.
