The Victoria Vikings got a strong performance from pitcher Jeff Duff, who stymied the Eugene offense en route to a 4-1 win at The drakkar. Mal Goff was credited with the save for Victoria, his 13th of the season. Victoria is now 67-72.
Victoria took the lead in the bottom of the fourth on a big hit from Pedro Moreno. On a first pitch fastball from Jim Unknown, Moreno hit a run-scoring single. That made it 1-0, Vikings. For the day, Moreno went 1-4.
"I like what I saw today," said Victoria manager Charles Luce, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
