Ohayashi Silences Charleston Bats
|
In a low-scoring game between Kingwood and Charleston, pitcher Kagetoki Ohayashi was excellent. The Kingwood right-hander was named the player of the game in Kingwood's 2-0 win. Javier González earned the save for Kingwood, his 26th of the year. With the win over Charleston, the Knights improved to 56-80.
Ohayashi's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 6 strikeouts in 7.1 innings while allowing 3 hits. Ohayashi, who was drafted in the two round of the 2026 draft, goes to 3-5 on the year with 55 strikeouts.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Charleston skipper Todd Hall, "and it cost us."
