The Nichols Gnats defeated the Eugene Emeralds, 6-5, at Prefontaine Park. Nichols third baseman Mototsune Yamamoto was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times. The win was Katsuyuki Noguchi's in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Jim Unknown took the loss for Eugene.
