Knights Edge Victoria in Pitching Duel
|
The Kingwood Knights got a magnificent performance from pitcher Declan Hollamby, who muffled the Victoria offense en route to a tight 1-0 Knights win at Stable Park. The winner was Dave Coffin in relief. His record improves to 6-0. Jeff Duff took the loss. Javier González earned the save for Kingwood, his 25th of the year.
John Linttell contributed a productive at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a single. It was one at-bat that helped Kingwood get the win.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Hollamby.
Kingwood is now 55-79, while Victoria is 63-71.
