People near Stable Park no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.

Kingwood Knights starter Sawao Daikawa was in fine form against the Victoria Vikings at Stable Park, leading his team to a 5-4 win. Kingwood reliever Riley Goodall picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Mal Goff absorbed the loss.

Coming to the plate with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Kingwood pinch hitter Kane Bater had a chance to be the hero. Facing Victoria pitcher Gang Niu with the bases loaded, Bater hit a walk-off run-scoring single.

"This place was rocking at the end," Daikawa said.

Kingwood, at 54-79, occupies last place in the Buck O'Neil League Mariner Moose Division.
