Rafael Caro found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Chippewa hurler Pablo Martínez, the 19-year-old pinch hitter hit a 2-run double. His 9th double of the season put the Gnats on top, 7-5.

Rhoney told a Nichols Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
