Cyclones Fall Short, 6-5, at Baltimore
|
The Baltimore Blue Claws overcame a good performance by Coney Island center fielder Jorge Rivera to knock off Coney Island, 6-5, at Old Bay Park. Rivera was 1 for 2 with a triple and 3 walks. He scored 2 runs. Reliever Todd Couch picked up the win. His record improves to 5-4. Carl Cozens took the loss. The 5th-place Cyclones have dropped 4 straight games.
One significant at-bat for Baltimore came with a runner on 3rd in the bottom of the fifth. Blue Claws designated hitter Alex Allen hit a sacrifice fly, which helped Baltimore go on to win.
"I'm proud to be a part of what we've got going on here," Allen told the Baltimore News. "It's a great group and we're pretty happy with the win."
