Blue Claws Defeat Cyclones, 4-3
|
In a close game at Old Bay Park, the Baltimore Blue Claws edged the Coney Island Cyclones, 4-3. Baltimore designated hitter Alex Allen earned the nod as player of the game. He went 2-3 with a double and a walk. Dae-je Kwak picked up the save for Baltimore, his 14th of the year. The Blue Claws have an impressive 80-50 record.
Baltimore right fielder Hisamitsu Kondo helped the Blue Claws to the win. In the bottom of the fifth inning, the 20-year old shortstop stroked a run-scoring single. For the game, Kondo was 2 for 3 with 2 singles.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Allen told a Baltimore News reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
