In a high-scoring contest between Chippewa and Winfield, catcher Doug Turner was a difference-maker. Turner, who is tied for 6th in the BOL with a .467 slugging percentage, earned player of the game honors in the 10-8 Chippewa win. He was 3-6 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. The first-place River Chiefs have a one-game lead in their division.

Turner turned the game around in the top of the ninth. That's when the Chippewa catcher dialed up a 2-run home run. Just like that, Chippewa's 7-6 deficit turned into a 8-7 lead.

"If I do my job, we've usually got a pretty good chance to win the game," said Turner.
