Hayakawa Delivers Clutch At-Bat for New Orleans in Walk-Off Win
|
New Orleans Jedi Knights starter Dao-zi Chou pitched a strong game against the Kingwood Knights at The Republic, leading the Jedi Knights to a 5-4 win. The winner was New Orleans reliever Yoshikazu Ichihara, now 2-8. The loser was Javier González. New Orleans is now 68-55, while Kingwood is 47-77.
Yukio Hayakawa was the walk-off hero for New Orleans. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, the New Orleans pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place sure got loud," said Mathew Thomas, the New Orleans manager.
