Frosties Bang Out 8-6 Win Versus Boise
|
The Barrow Frosties bested the Boise Bloodhounds by a score of 8-6, with left fielder Pedro De La Garza getting the main credit. On the day, De La Garza was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Frosties. Barrow reliever Kung-zheng Zhu was the winner. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was Rob Frost. Tokuhei Yano was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 21 of 26 save opportunities.
The Barrow win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, Máximo Duarte. In the top of the second, the Barrow center fielder came to bat and hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 2-1 lead.
"I think we all put in a good day's work," said De La Garza.
The Frosties bumped their record to 72-54 with this latest triumph.
