The Victoria Vikings topped the Winfield Warriors, 5-2, in Buck O'Neil League action at The drakkar. The player of the game was Victoria pitcher and Nagoya, Japan native Yoshimochi Chikuda. Victoria is now 59-66, Winfield 65-60.

Osamu Iesada's at-bat in the bottom of the seventh was significant, coming with runners on 1st and 2nd and the game tied, 2-2. The Victoria pinch hitter hit a 2-run double off Norberto Bianchi to put the Vikings up.

In comments to the Victoria Gazette, Iesada admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
