Kingwood used a superb performance from starting pitcher Dave Hamm to down the St. Paul Saints, 5-1. Juan Yarrito recorded the save for Kingwood, his 2nd of the season. Kingwood now sits at 46-75, while St. Paul falls to 58-63.
Kingwood first baseman Javier Fernández contributed to the cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, Fernández went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Kingwood Knights manager Rodger Raymond. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
