The Chippewa River Chiefs picked up a win at Heartland Kettlecorn Stadium, knocking off the San Angelo Mustangs, 7-5. Starting pitcher Manchu Woo, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Chippewa is now 75-46, 2 games up in the Buck O'Neil League Mariner Moose Division.

The most critical at-bat came in the top of the 11th inning. With one out, Yoshino Sugimoto hit a 1-0 fastball from J.J. Crawford for a run-scoring triple. It put Chippewa in front, 6-5.

In postgame comments, Sugimoto said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
