The Kingwood Knights defeated the Barrow Frosties, 6-3, in Buck O'Neil League action at The Blizzard Bowl, with Kingwood third baseman Yasuhiro Arai named player of the game. Sawao Daikawa earned the win for Kingwood. He lasted 6.1 innings, allowing 3 earned runs on 8 hits, while striking out 7. With the win, he raised his record to 4-7. Javier González earned the save for Kingwood, his 22nd of the year.
Kingwood left fielder Truman Cassidy gave his club a productive at-bat in the top of the sixth inning. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Knights leading 3-2, Cassidy hit a 2-run single.
"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Arai.
Kingwood is now 44-74, while Barrow is 66-52.
