Jedi Knights Fall to Rivera, Cyclones
|
The Coney Island Cyclones stymied the New Orleans Jedi Knights, 7-0, at The Republic. Jorge Rivera, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Coney Island. Kun Jing got the win, improving to 3-0. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up no runs on 3 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 5. The win puts the Cyclones at 50-69, while the Jedi Knights drop to 67-51.
Rivera's nice game included a clutch 2-run home run in the top of the first.
"Good win for us," said Rivera. "We'll lace up our cleats and go after the next one."
