Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Marauders
|
Mile High first baseman Marshall Dempsey pounded Maple Marauders pitchers at Legends Park, but it was not enough to keep the Mustangs from falling, 9-8. Dempsey belted 2 home runs, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 2. Maple reliever Adrien Clément picked up the win, upping his record to 4-4. Kenkichi Kodo was saddled with the loss. With the win, the Marauders improved to 39-35.
The game was decided with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Maple trailing 8-7, Iván Zavala hit a fastball from Kenkichi Kodo to center for a 2-run home run. Just like that, the Marauders had a walk-off win.
"This joint was rocking," said Zavala.
