Lights Pick Up 9-4 Win
|
The Phoenix Lights defeated the Long Island Ducks, 9-4. Earning player of the game honors was left fielder Robbie Colwill, who went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Matt Calderón earned the win to go to 4-5. He allowed 4 earned runs on 7 hits, with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts. Phoenix, now 82-51, holds second place in the Ford Frick League Billy the Marlin Division.
Hidehira Ohayashi contributed to the Phoenix win. The 21-year old catcher stroked a 2-run double in the top of the first. For the game, Ohayashi was 1 for 5 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Ohayashi.
