Cornhuskers Deal Wolverines 8-6 Setback
|
A 4-RBI performance from designated hitter Joe Vacher, who is tied for 9th in the FFL with a .892 OPS, led the DeKalb Cornhuskers to a 8-6 win over the Wichita Wolverines. The Cornhuskers now have a record of 49-81.
There was more than one reason the Cornhuskers beat the Wolverines, but Vacher's big at-bat in the top of the fifth was an important factor. He staked his team to a 5-2 lead when he hit a 3-run home run.
"We got the victory," said Vacher. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
