Brown Leads Charge, New York Blasts Ducks
|
The New York Ninjas buried the Long Island Ducks, 15-0, under a barrage of hits. Jason Brown led the onslaught, going 2-for-4 for New York. The third-place Ninjas now have a win-loss record of 71-61.
Though there was little doubt about New York's eventual triumph, left fielder Kojuro Yamaguchi made a particularly significant contribution in the top of the eighth inning when he hit a 3-run home run off Trent Harwood. Yamaguchi went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.
"The score speaks for itself," said losing manager Bob Reece. "It was embarrassing."
