Kunio Suto left his imprint on the 6-4 Phoenix win against the Carson City Mustang. Suto, who is tied for 10th in the FFL in total bases with 201, was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Jian-cheng Wang earned his 6th save in 9 tries. Phoenix is now 81-49, Carson City 66-64.
Juan Villa provided some late-game heroics for Phoenix. In the bottom of the eighth inning, he hit a 2-run single. It came on a 0-1 fastball from Héctor Navarro and propelled Phoenix to a 6-4 lead.
