Thrilling Victory Pushes Rats Win Streak to 6
|
The Rats had to overcome a good performance from Sandy Springs pitcher Jake Rhodes to claim a 3-2 win at The Rat Hole. Rhodes went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Rock River reliever Kyu-cheol Ch'oe was the winner. His record is now 4-1. Jake Rhodes took the loss. The Rats, at 85-44, have now won 6 straight.
The Rats got a lift from pinch hitter Yan-hao Lao who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth inning off Javier Peña. It was his 2nd RBI of the season and put Rock River in front, 3-2.
"We came out with the short end of the stick," said Sandy Springs skipper Duncan Kelly.
