Predators Go Down to Defeat, 9-6
|
It was a fun time at The Coliseum, where the Topeka Predators and Sandy Springs Spartans tangled.
The Sandy Springs Spartans topped the Topeka Predators, 9-6, with left fielder Andrew Aidan playing a big role. Aidan was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Spartans in the win. Jake Rhodes, the winner, improved to 9-8. He held Topeka to 3 runs on 4 hits over 6.1 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. Earning his 1st save for Sandy Springs was Alexis Coates.
Sandy Springs first baseman Reese Knight helped the Spartans to the win. In the bottom of the third inning, the 25-year old first baseman stroked a grand slam home run. For the game, Knight was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once.
"We'll take this win and move on," said Aidan.
The Spartans sit in 6th place in the Ford Frick League Billy the Marlin Division with a record of 59-65.
