The Madison Beehive beat the Boise Hawks, 9-5, at Basque Block Field. Madison third baseman Ryu Watanabe earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 1-3 with a walk and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Max Adriaens picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-4. Wilson Polk was tagged with the loss.

In the top of the third, Tomokazu Hara had a big 2-run double off Wilson Polk. With the double, the Madison center fielder put his team in front, 2-0. He was 2-5 with a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once in the contest.

Watanabe said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."

Madison is now 59-66, while Boise is 44-80.
