Rats Knock Off Ducks, 7-4
|
The Rock River Rats knocked off the Long Island Ducks, 7-4, at Long Island Stadium. Herman Wolf, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Rock River won. The third baseman went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner was Douglas Pantall, who threw 90 pitches over 5 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits. Josh Hunt picked up the save for Rock River, his 1st of the year.
Also having an impact was catcher Harley Ware, who stroked a 2-run double in the top of the third for Rock River. For the game, Ware went 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
