Ducks Edge Topeka in Pitching Duel
|
In a tight game between the Long Island Ducks and the Topeka Predators, pitcher Ryunosuke Ine was terrific on the mound. The Long Island left-hander was named the player of the game in Long Island's 1-0 win. The 4th-place Predators have lost 4 straight games.
Enrique Rivera helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring double to give Long Island a 1-0 lead.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Rivera told the Long Island Gazette. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
