New York right-hander Lourenço Russa made an effective start against the Spokane Bulldogs at The Kennel, leading his team to a 8-3 win. Picking up the save was Scott Bernard, his 1st. At 67-56, New York is in third place in the Ford Frick League Billy the Marlin Division.

In the top of the fourth inning, left fielder Kojuro Yamaguchi came through big-time for the Ninjas. With New York leading 2-0, he belted a 3-run home run.

"We came out aggressive," said New York Ninjas manager Reda Guillon. "We came out swinging the bats."
