Coal Miners Take Down Death Stars, 7-3
|
Antioch Coal Miners starter Paul Groulx was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Detroit Death Stars, 7-3. Groulx went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 7. His record improves to 6-6. Javier Franco finished the game for Antioch and earned his 5th save.
Alonso Rosas did his part for the Coal Miners, producing a run-scoring double in the bottom of the third inning. For the game, the shortstop went 3-4 with a double and 2 singles.
"We've got guys willing to do what it takes to win," Rosas told the Antioch Times.
Antioch currently is in third place in the Blake Camden League B.J. Birdie League at 82-68.
