Garry Strode never let the Death Stars get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Coal Miners to a 4-1 win. Strode got the win, improving to 11-8. He allowed 3 hits and walked 4 over 5.2 innings. Strode allowed 1 earned run. Javier Franco notched his 4th save in 6 chances.

In the bottom of the second inning, catcher Ekansa Sathiamoorthy came through big-time for the Coal Miners. With Antioch leading 1-0, he belted a 2-run home run.
