Fireballs Lose to Raiders in Walk Off
|
House of Pain was sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
Reno right-hander Guo-quiang Zhào helped his team edge Joplin by the score of 3-2. Zhào kept the opposing lineup in check. After today's action, Reno sits at 72-77, while Joplin falls to 71-77.
In the bottom of the ninth, with two out and the game tied, 2-2, third baseman Javier Cortés won it for Reno. With a runner on 2nd, Cortés hit a 0-1 cutter from Oliver Cervantes for a run-scoring single, giving his team a 3-2 win.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Cortés said.
