Minneapolis got a terrific performance from pitcher Andrew Johnson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Billings Mustangs. Billings won the The Ice Box contest, 4-1. Johnson was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball. Billings improves to 87-63 with the win. They lead their division by 4 games.
Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Satoshi Kuhabara's at-bat with one out in the top of the 12th was crucial. The Billings second baseman hit a 2-run home run, to give his team a 3-1 lead.
"Exciting game to play in," said Kuhabara. "Getting the win makes it even better."
