The Portland Beavers wiggled past the Omaha Titans, 3-2, at Titans Park. Portland pitcher Iván Morales earned player of the game honors. Portland is now 40-35.
Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Mike Hobbs's at-bat with no one out in the top of the tenth was crucial. The Portland pinch hitter hit a solo home run, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"Exciting game to play in," said Hobbs. "Getting the win makes it even better."
