Freedom Get One-Run Win at Vancouver

Both teams had their chances, but the Philadelphia Freedom eventually prevailed at Stanley Park.
The Vancouver Canadians got a superb performance from right fielder Scotty Hudson. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Philadelphia. The Freedom won the game, 6-5. In spite of the loss, Hudson was named the player of the game. He went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The save went to Bob Archer, his 9th this season.
This game was not decided until Hayden Bentley came to bat in the top of the ninth. With runners on 1st and 3rd and no one out, the Philadelphia designated hitter hit a sacrifice fly. The Freedom took the lead, 6-5.
"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Bentley said. "That's how it goes."
The 'W' lifts Philadelphia's record to 65-78.
