The Chicago Titans and Billings Mustangs played a tight game at The War Dome, with the hosts claiming the hard-fought win.
In a low-scoring clash between Chicago and Billings, pitcher Pancho Cortéz was a difference-maker. The left-hander earned player of the game honors for Chicago in the 3-2 win. Millard Dixon, credited with the save, is now 3 for 8 in save opportunities.
Nathan Wickenden had a productive at-bat for the Titans with two out in the bottom of the fourth. With a runner on 2nd, the center fielder hit a run-scoring single. The at-bat was important in the Chicago win.
"We came out with the short end of the stick," said Billings skipper Keith Irwin.
The Titans sit in 4th place in the Blake Camden League B.J. Birdie League with a record of 69-73.
