Peoria played host to Astoria at the friendly confines of The Cave at Barton Springs.
Caterpillars first baseman Ajyapa Vijayarangan put his stamp on his team's 9-5 win over the Astoria Argonauts. Vijayarangan went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs for Peoria in the contest. Zhong Shi recorded the save for Peoria, his 14th of the season.
Steve Bailey had a productive trip to the plate with two out in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single, helping Peoria to the win.
Vijayarangan told a Peoria Gazette reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
Peoria is now 63-81. Astoria is 78-66.
