Bombers Pick Up 5-1 Win
|
The Bronx Bombers stymied the Reno Raiders, 5-1, at House of Pain. Andrew Switzer, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for Bronx. The Bombers raised their record to 56-87.
One consequential at-bat came in the top of the sixth. With runners on 1st and 3rd, the batter, Ángel García, grounded out, driving in 1 run. It made the score 1-0, Bronx, and helped them go on to win.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Switzer told reporters after the game.
