Fukuda goes 3-for-4 as Freedom Squeeze Past Billings
|
In a tight contest at The Bell, the Philadelphia Freedom edged the Billings Mustangs by the score of 6-5. Philadelphia designated hitter Isamu Fukuda, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Jesús Moreno sewed up the save, his 7th. Today's win puts Philadelphia at 61-74, while Billings falls to 80-56.
Fukuda turned the game around in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Ekagra Manasi, the Philadelphia designated hitter rapped a 2-run home run. Suddenly, the 5-4 Philadelphia deficit turned into a 6-5 lead.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Fukuda told the Philadelphia Daily.
