Alexander Lifts Argonauts to 12-5 Win
|
The Omaha Raptors and Astoria Argonauts were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Golden Fleece Park.
Benefiting from Wes Alexander's productive game, the Astoria Argonauts downed the Omaha Raptors, 12-5. Alexander was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 5 for the Argonauts. Ricardo Castros, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 8 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 4. His record now stands at 8-10.
Alexander put Astoria up, 12-4, when he hit a grand slam home run off Graham Hardingham in the bottom of the seventh. His 12th home run of the season helped the Argonauts capture the win.
"It feels good to get this one," Alexander told the Astoria Bulletin.
The second-place Argonauts now have a 4-game winning streak.
