Minneapolis starter Gerardo Estrada kept the Joplin hitters in check, while his team cruised to a 10-2 win. Estrada picked up the win for Minneapolis, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 8-5. José García was credited with the save for Minneapolis, his 2nd of the season.

With two out in the top of the first, Jesús Pérez hit a go-ahead run-scoring single. It was his 37th hit of the season and with it the Freeze took a 1-0 lead.

"Gerardo's tempo and rhythm were good," said Minneapolis Freeze manager Fernando Vargas. "He was the key to us winning."
