South Carolina left fielder Zhao-ying Gai was instrumental in his team's 8-7 win over the Chicago Hitmen. Gai, who is tied for 10th in the TML in triples with 3, went 3-4 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Bombers. Anupradana Agarkar closed it out for his 21st save. The third-place Bombers now have a win-loss record of 40-32.

Late in the game, pinch hitter Kiyonobu Yamasaki had a big at-bat for South Carolina. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a run-scoring triple off Wing-chiu Zhou. The play gave the Bombers a 6-5 lead.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said South Carolina manager Randy Huggett.
