The Boise Hawks racked up a win at Long Island Stadium, bumping off the Long Island Ducks, 9-5. Peter McColgan, who started for Boise, pitched effectively for his team. McColgan, now 7-11, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. Boise goes to 42-77, Long Island to 60-58.
In the top of the third inning, designated hitter Kiemon Matsunaga came through big-time for the Hawks. With Boise leading 4-1, he belted a 2-run home run.
