A nice crowd turned out to see the Victoria Vikings and Charleston Panthers clash at Franklin Mountains Field.
Charleston had no answer for Victoria Vikings starter Jeff Duff, who flummoxed Panthers hitters as the Vikings cruised to a 8-1 victory. Victoria is 5th in the Buck O'Neil League San Diego Chicken Division with a record of 56-60.
In his 86-pitch effort, Duff allowed no earned runs on 2 hits over 7.2 innings. He walked 2 and struck out 4.
"It's good to win," Duff told the Victoria Gazette. "I like to have fun doing it."
